The timeless Mid-Century G-Plan Tola and black Librenza range preceded the Danish design influence of the 1960s. The gorgeous design and exceptional construction throughout reflects the glamour of late 1950’s Italian design. This G-Plan coffee table features the iconic black ebonised legs and frame, with African mahogany (Tola), solid brass feet which can be adjusted for floor levelling, and brass finials above the legs.

About the Piece:

The timeless Mid-Century G-Plan Tola and black Librenza range preceded the Danish design influence of the 1960s. The gorgeous design and exceptional construction throughout reflects the glamour of late 1950’s Italian design.

This G-Plan coffee table features the iconic black ebonised legs and frame, with African mahogany (Tola), solid brass feet which can be adjusted for floor levelling, and brass finials above the legs.

This G-Plan table has been sympathetically restored. The top has been sanded to remove the old finish and the base has had two coats of Dixie Belle Mineral Chalk Paint in the shade Caviar. Two coats of Osmo Polyx Hard Wax Oil have been applied to the top, which is resistant to water and dirt and is very durable, and smoothens wood surfaces. Two coats of Polyvine Satin Varnish have been applied to the black base and legs. Finally, the table has been finished with two coats of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax to enrich the wood grain and give the table a slightly deeper contrast and a soft lustrous finish. The brass feet have been buffed and polished to bring back as much of the original brass shine as possible.

The table is strong and sturdy with no loose joints or significant damage. The G Plan gold stamp is still present on the underside of the table.
