About the Piece:
This retro chest of Harris Lebus drawers has been lovingly re-imagined with some African flair, ready for its new forever home. This piece dates to the late 1960s originally.
The body and splayed legs have been painted using Bunyt’s Paints in the shade Bewitched which is a beautiful navy blue colour. The drawer fronts have been decoupaged using Nigerian Anningtex waxed fabric which was bought from Zimbabwe. It has a beautiful pattern on it with pops of orange to contrast against the blue. The entire chest has been coated with Polyvine Decorators Varnish in Satin for a contemporary feel and for added protection and durability.
The original brass drawer handles have been given a watercolour effect with gold paint.
There are four drawers in the chest that graduate in depth, with the bottom two drawers being deeper than the top two.
The combination of the eye-catching African fabric, and dark blue paint colours will add a modern, contemporary feel to any room.

Major imperfections are always addressed and repaired to a high standard, but I believe small marks tell the story of the piece’s history and add to its charm. As this item is hand-painted and hand-finished, it may also show faint brush marks, imperfections and texture, which I hope you agree adds to the uniqueness and character of the piece. Please also note that due to lighting, colours may vary slightly from those in the photos. Please kindly keep this in mind during your purchase.
