CREATING THE DESIGN

 

For our initial consultation, I popped around to their house to see the cabinet they wanted to be made over. At the same time, I got to see their incredible décor and get a really good sense of their style and vision for the cabinet. They showed me their beloved vintage Singer sewing machine they have on display, so I took a photo of the pattern of the base plate and created a stencil with it on the Cricut to use on the cabinet – you can see it in teal along the top rim.

 

They entrusted me with their cabinet, and pretty much gave me creative free reign with the theme being steampunk Alice in Wonderland.

 

As part of my commission service, I kept in constant communication with Matt and sent him pictures of the progress so he could see the cabinet come to life. We personally delivered the cabinet on completion and the final reveal was a surporse for when we unveiled it in their living room!
