Vintage ELPA Alcobaça Tureen Set, Portuguese Majolica, Black & Gold Floral

Features: This magnificent four-piece set includes the lidded tureen, the matching underplate, and the original ladle. The ceramic body features a striking, glossy black glaze which provides a dramatic contrast to the raised, textured floral decoration. Each flower is hand-painted in vibrant shades of pink and yellow with white leaves, brought to life with generous, gleaming 24k gold gilt accents on the handles, pedestal base, and rims. The style is a classic example of Portuguese majolica, renowned for its bold and decorative earthenware.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The colours remain vibrant and the main body is free from chips or cracks. There is some minor, age-appropriate wear to the gold gilding on the handles and rims, and some light crazing is visible on the ladle upon close inspection, which is common for pieces of this age. This set has been exceptionally well-preserved.
