Description

This is a striking Royal Doulton flambe ceramic elephant figurine, model number 489A, known as “Trunk in Salute.” The raised trunk is a symbol of good luck. Designed by Charles Noke, this piece was issued between 1926 and 1962. It features a rich, dark red flambe glaze with black detailing. This particular example has undergone restoration: one tusk has been repaired, and there is evidence of more extensive restoration work elsewhere on the piece. Despite the restoration, this rare figurine remains a desirable collectable for Royal Doulton enthusiasts. The base is stamped with the Royal Doulton maker’s mark and “FLAMBE.”
