About the Piece:
This timeless Mid-Century Modern G-Plan Astro teak table from the Fresco furniture range by E-Gomme Ltd was designed by Victor Wilkins in the 1960s.
The gorgeous design and exceptional construction throughout display a strong Scandinavian design influence and makes this table a classic addition to any mid-century-styled living interior. The form of the legs gives this vintage teak table a beautiful retro look.
This table has been fully restored. It has been stripped and sanded to remove the old finish and any stains removed where possible. A coat of Furniture Clinic wood stain in Teak has been applied to enhance the natural teak colour of the wood. This has been followed by two coats of Osmo Polyx Hard Wax Oil which is resistant to water and dirt is very durable and smoothens wood surfaces. Finally, the table has been finished with two coats of Rust-Oleum White Furniture Finishing Wax to enrich the wood grain and give the table a slightly deeper contrast and a soft lustrous finish.
The table is strong and sturdy with no loose joints. The G Plan label is still present on the underside of the table.
