About the Project

Helen purchased a dressing table from us, and following delivery of the dressing table, she got in contact to commission a matching dressing table stool.

“… I love the stool and it matched perfectly…”

WHERE IT BEGAN

The Dressing Table

This was the dressing table that Helen purchased from us, and which we needed to attempt to match.

The paper we had used to decoupage the drawer fronts was a beautiful yellow, with grey cranes and leaves as the pattern.

THE PROCESS

Finding The Fabric

So the hunt began for a fabric to use on the stool that would be similar to the paper, knowing that we would be painting the legs and the body of the stool using the same paint as the dressing table – Annabell Duke in Emerald City.

After some searching online, this beautiful fabric popped up, which was a lovely match to the paper, pulling in the grey cranes and yellow mustard colour.

Most importantly, Helen loved it as much as we did and gave the thumbs up!

THE TRANSFORMATION

The Stool

Having found a stool with the same Queen Anne-shaped legs and the right dimensions to fit under the dressing table, we showed it to Helen for her go-ahead. She loved it too, and so the transformation of the stool began!

As part of our commission service, we sent Helen pictures of the progress of the stool so she could be part of the journey and see the stool come to life. Once it was all done, and we knew Helen was delighted with the finished stool, it was sent to her by courier, ready for its new home!
