About the Piece:
This charming vintage mahogany Duchess dressing table and stool have been lovingly restored and refurbished, ready for their new forever home.
The beautiful mahogany on the top of the dressing table has been carefully sanded and oiled to bring out the grain. Two coats of Osmo Polyx Hard Wax Oil have been applied to the top, which is resistant to water and dirt and is very durable, and smoothens wood surfaces.
The body of the dressing table/vanity and stool have been hand-painted using Frenchic in the shade Kiss Me Sloely and Cornish Milk Mineral Paint in the shade Cornish Honey. The body and stool have been finished with two coats of varnish to protect the finish and make it more durable.
The drawer fronts have been covered in regal yellow paper, which features a colourful tropical bird and foliage design. The drawer edges and drawer sides have been painted with Tikkurila in the shade Flamingo K319, a bold, peachy, orange-red. The drawer fronts have been protected with varnish. Gold drawer handles have been added to complement the design of the piece.
The stool seat has been reupholstered using yellow velvet fabric to compliment the dressing table.
The combination of vibrant yellow and striking blue paint colours with the regal yellow drawer fronts will make a statement in any room!
