This is a striking vintage Royal Doulton flambe bowl featuring a picturesque English country scene. The bowl is finished in a vibrant, hot red flambe glaze with a black transfer print depicting a charming cottage at the end of a country lane, reflected in a body of water. This dramatic colour palette and detailed scene create a captivating piece. Dating back to around 1930, this bowl is a wonderful example of Royal Doulton’s flambe ware. The base is stamped with the Royal Doulton maker’s mark and “FLAMBE.”
