Vintage Huet Print La Brouette, French Rococo Art, Ornate Gold Gilt Frame

Oh, what a find! I’m so excited to share this absolutely beautiful vintage French print with you. This is “La Brouette” (The Wheelbarrow), a famous pastoral scene originally created by the celebrated 18th-century Rococo artist Jean-Baptiste Huet. It captures a wonderfully playful and romantic moment, full of charm and intricate detail – a true celebration of a bygone era.

Features:

• This is a lovely vintage print of a stipple engraving, rendered in a warm sanguine (reddish-brown) ink that mimics the style of old master drawings.
• The print details the artist “J.B. Huet delin.” (drawn by) and the Parisian publisher “A Paris, chez Bonnet, rue St Jacques…”.
• It’s housed in a stunning and ornate gold gilt frame in the Rococo style, with intricate scroll and leaf details at the corners. The frame itself is a work of art!
• The piece comes ready to hang with its original decorative paper backing and hanging wire intact.

• Depth: Approx. 3cm (1.2 inches)

Condition: This piece is in good vintage condition, with wear consistent with its age and history. The frame has some minor cracking to the gesso, which is very common in pieces like this and, in my opinion, only adds to its authentic character. There may be some light surface scratches.
